Active Lifestyle Protection: Built for More Than Race Day
How broader accident-medical protection can help address eligible expenses across an active life—not only during an event.

An active life creates more opportunities to move, explore, train, and connect. It can also create ordinary exposure to accidental injuries: a fall on a hike, a fracture during a recreational game, a cycling accident, or an unexpected injury during a workout. Active Lifestyle Protection is designed to add accident-medical protection around that broader life—not only around a registered race.
The product works alongside primary health insurance. When a covered accident requires medical treatment, the primary health plan processes the claim first. That plan determines its allowed amount, what it pays, and what remains the consumer’s responsibility under the health plan. Active Lifestyle Protection may then help with eligible remaining accident-related medical expenses according to its policy and rider terms.
That second layer matters because having health insurance does not always make an injury cost $0. Deductible amounts, coinsurance, copays where applicable, and other eligible consumer responsibility can still produce a significant bill. Protection designed for those eligible remaining expenses can reduce the financial disruption that follows the medical disruption.
Depending on the covered accident and policy terms, eligible treatment can include emergency or urgent care, physician services, diagnostic imaging, treatment for fractures or dislocations, physical therapy, and other accident-related care. These are examples of the kinds of expenses the protection is designed to address, not a guarantee that every service or circumstance is covered.
The current Active Lifestyle product schedule lists a $15,000 accidental injury benefit, a $25,000 accidental death benefit, and a $0 product deductible. Available terms run from 60 through 365 days. The selected term defines the protection period; the policy determines how allowable expenses, maximum benefits, exclusions, and other conditions apply.
The claim sequence is straightforward: a covered accident occurs; medical treatment is received; primary health insurance processes the claim; an eligible amount remains the consumer’s responsibility; and Active Lifestyle Protection may provide benefits for that eligible amount under the policy. It is supplemental protection, but supplemental does not mean incidental—the remaining responsibility is often the part of a medical bill the consumer must manage directly.
Active Lifestyle Protection is broader than one race day, but it is not a promise that every activity, injury, or expense qualifies. Coverage applies only during the selected term and remains subject to the policy and accident medical expense rider, including allowable-expense rules, exclusions, benefit maximums, and claim requirements.
